zero interactions with this mock, Wanted but not invoked

Trying to write Mock JUnit for the class, but facing the issue Actually, there were zero interactions with this mock.

Wanted but not invoked:

Tried to create a Test class Mock data in Setup method with the annotation of @Before, and try to create test method using @Test

@SpringBootTest
@RunWith(MockitoJUnitRunner.Silent.class)
public class DefProcessTestTest {

@InjectMocks
private DefProcessTestTest defProcessTest;

@Mock
private DocumentService documentService;

Document document;
BookDto bookDto;

@Before
public void init(){
MockitoAnnotations.initMocks(assemblyDefinitionProcessor);
}

@Before
public void setUp() throws Exception {
document = new MasterDocument();
document.setDocumentId("145678");
document.setRelatedDocumentId("45624");

bookDto = new bookDto();

bookDto.setDocumentId("12345");
bookDto.setName("TEst Document");
bookDto.setCreatedDate(new Date(2019-01-19));
bookDto.setRevisedDate(new Date(2019-01-19));

}

@Test
public void process_success(){

assertEquals("145678",document.getDocumentId());
List<bookDto> dtoList= new ArrayList<>();
Mockito.when(documentService.retrieveDependency(document.getDocumentId())).thenReturn(dtoList);
Mockito.verify(documentService,Mockito.atLeastOnce()).retrieveDependency(document.getDocumentId());
}

}

Expecting the mock service verified once and code coverage but not happened. can anyone help me with this?

  • Try MockitoAnnotations.initMocks(this): you should pass the object whose fields are annotated with @Mock to MockitoAnnotations.initMocks().

  • No, you pass this which is a reference to an instance of your test class DefProcessTestTest.

  • MockitoAnnotations.initMocks(assemblyDefinitionProcessor); this line already point my reference of this correct?

  • Yes, I mean this line. Try to replace assemblyDefinitionProcessor with this.
