OverwriteModelError: Cannot overwrite model once compiled
I am encountering an error when using findOne to search a document in mongoose. There is a document in the Actor collection but when I run the discord command to run the file, I get this error;
UnhandledPromiseRejectionWarning: OverwriteModelError: Cannot overwrite
Actor
model once compiled.
Here is the schema I am using:
const schema = mongoose.Schema;
const ApplicationActor = schema({
_id: mongoose.Schema.Types.ObjectId,
Username: String,
Question1: String,
Question2: String,
Question3: String,
Question4: String,
Question5: String,
Question6: String,
Question7: String,
Status: String,
Timestamp: String
});
This is the code from which the error is pointing to;
const Application = mongoose.exports("Actor", ApplicationActor);
I have read in many questions from StackOverflow, none have seem to help.

Try changingconst ApplicationActor = schema({
toconst ApplicationActor = new schema({
andmongoose.exports(...
tomongoose.model(
. See what that gets you
