about value increment in SQL using PHP

I am trying to increment a value in one of my column but instead It is adding more than one



i have tried this:



$sql = "UPDATE admins SET updated_trials=updated_trials+1, last_trial_update='".date('Y-m-d h:i:s')."' WHERE id=".$id;


it is in my php file, i tried to run the query at the /phpmyadmin and it run perfectly but when i try to execute it in php its not going perfectly as it has to



$sql = "UPDATE admins SET updated_trials=updated_trials+1, last_trial_update='".date('Y-m-d h:i:s')."' WHERE id=".$id;
