JS smooth scroll goes too far

0

I have implemented a smooth scroll but it ends up too far down my page. Can someone please help me with a simple way of offsetting the target? My code is currently as follows:

<script>   document.querySelectorAll('a[href^="#"]').forEach(anchor => {
anchor.addEventListener('click', function (e) {
e.preventDefault();
document.querySelector(this.getAttribute('href')).scrollIntoView({
behavior: 'smooth'
});
}); }); </script>

Many thanks in advance!
