Android Studio shuts down computer when trying to run an app
I am attempting to run an app using Nougat API 24 x86 on my laptop but the moment I hit ‘Run’, it freezes my computer for a brief minute and shuts it down. I have absolutely no clue what the problem is as there have been no error messages from Android Studio. I would try to run on admeabi but it is extremely slow. Has anyone encountered this before and if so how did you resolve it? Thank you!

Sounds like a possible over heating problem. Have you tried Android Studio and your App on a different computer? Just taking a shot in the dark. Not a lot to work with. You might also post some details about your computer (OS, CPU, Memory, etc.).

Another shot in the dark. Try to look up any Android Studio logs. Check system logs (Windows 'Event Viewer`). What you mean, "shut it down"? Does it normal Windows shut down process? Is there BSOD? Or just sudden lost of power (battery problem / overheating?).
