How do I convert an icon into an image and write it to a file?

0

I am trying to get an icon from a jLabel and then save it to a file. To do this I am attempting to convert it into an image and write it using ImageIO.write. However, when I look at the saved image, the dimensions are correct, but the photo is pure black. I'm not sure what is causing the problem, and I am relatively a novice at Java. My current code is below:

    try {
Icon icon = jLabel2.getIcon();

BufferedImage save = new BufferedImage(icon.getIconWidth(),
icon.getIconHeight(), BufferedImage.TYPE_INT_RGB);

Graphics2D g = save.createGraphics();
g.drawImage(save, 0, 0, null);
save.getScaledInstance(jLabel2.getWidth(), jLabel2.getHeight(),
BufferedImage.TYPE_INT_RGB);

File file = new File("H:/summer6.jpg/");
ImageIO.write(save, "jpg", file);
} catch (IOException ex) {
Logger.getLogger(PhotoshopGUI.class.getName()).log(Level.SEVERE, null, ex);
}
