Ajax input value update containing html code does not print correctly
JavaScript
// Ajax refresh price value.
setInterval(function() {
$.ajax({
url:"query.php?currency=<?=$currencycode;?>"
}).done(
function(data) {
$("#value").attr("value", data);
});
},3000);
HTML
<input id="value" type="text" value="..." size="5" readonly>
query.php output result
echo $price . $listofcurrencies[$currencycode][1];
one example for $listofcurrencies[$currencycode][1]
"USD" => array("United States Dollar", "$"),
When the index.php file is refreshing the value for the input field is printing the $price and the html code for USD currency as I specified in my case. The problem is the value in the field is refresed with the price + html code itself. I want to print the price + the symbol and not the html code for the symbol.

Is there a reason you don't put a actual dollar sign($) in the array?"USD" => array("United States Dollar", "$"),
