CSS Sticky menu with custom stick offset?

-2

I have a menu that is positioned at the top of the page, with a box shadow. When I scroll down I want the actual menu to stick, after a certain scroll length.

In the code there is a div on top of the menu. This is the easy way to do it, however if there is a box shadow, there will be an ugly line between the two divs. I will not add another div on top of the box shadow, that will cause issues. What I need is to either disable the shadow on top of the menu, or make the menu longer in height, and then have the stick value have an offset, so that it doesn't stick until it has reached a certain number of pixels (not top: 20px;). Keep in mind that the menu is to touch the top of the page constantly.

I created a jsfiddle here, because formatting in stackoverflow is broken.

https://jsfiddle.net/j25kpLbz/

#topContainer {
background-color: #808080;
width: 80%;
margin: auto;
color: white;
font-size: 30px;
font-weight: bold;
text-align: center;
padding-top: 10px;
}
