how can I reload page automatically in nodejs promise after job executed
I'm getting json data and in the main page. Before loading json data the page should display loading text. After json data loaded completely it should display json data completely.
var express = require('express');
'use strict';
var https = require('https');
var app = express();
var request = require('request');
var bodyParser =require('body-parser');
var task = ;
app.set('view engine', 'ejs');
app.use(bodyParser.urlencoded({ extended: true }));
app.listen(3000, function(){
console.log('Example app listening on port 3000 !');
});
function initialize() {
var options = {
url: 'https://jsonplaceholder.typicode.com/posts',
headers: {'User-Agent': 'request'}
};
// Return new promise
return new Promise(function(resolve, reject) {
// Do async job
request.get(options, function(err, resp, body) {
if (err) {
reject(err);
} else {
resolve(JSON.parse(body));
}
})
})
}
app.get('/', function(req, res){
if(task.length === 0){
var initializePromise = initialize();
initializePromise.then(function(result) {
task = result;
// res.redirect('/test');
console.log("task initialized");
if(counter ===0){
res.render('index', {task: task.splice(0, lNum), loading: false});
}
}, function(err) { console.log(err); });
}else{
console.log("task already initialized");
}
if(task.length ===0){
res.render('index', {task: null, loading: true});
}else{
res.render('index', {task: task, loading: false });
}
});
When I run script. It gives me following error
Example app listening on port 3000 !
task initialized
