Iustinus erat filius agriculae. Iustinus intravit in exercitu et fuit particeps belli Isaurici. Anastasio I mortuo Iustinus Imperator Romanus Orientalis factus est. Iustinus Chosroem I, regem Persarum posterum, adoptare voluit, sed colloquia dimissa sunt. Tum bellum, quod post mortem Iustini permansit, cum Persis gessit.
Iustino mortuo, Iustinianus I successor factus est.
