Cetacea (ex Graeco κῆτος 'cetus', 'quilibet magnus piscis', vel etiam 'monstrum marinum') sunt ordo qui varia mammalia marina late appellata mysticetos, delphinidas, et phocoenidas comprehendit. In mythologia Graeca, monstrum a Perseo victum appellatur Ceto, a constellatione Ceto significatum. Cetologia est ramus scientiae marinae cum studio cetaceorum coniunctus.
