Fraternitas Rosaceae Crucis[1] est societas secreta philosophica, quae a quodam Christiano Rosenkreuz in Germania medio aevo exeunte condita esse traditur. Docet theologiam exstructam in arcanis antiquitatis veritatibus ab homine mediocri celatis, quae naturae, universi corporei, spiritualitatis intellectum praebeant.[2] Symbolum fraternitatis rosea crux est.


Primum in Germania et deinde per Europam divulgata sunt duo edicta
sine nomine auctoris, quae erant Fama Fraternitatis (1614) et Confessio Fraternitatis (1615).[3] Quae documenta, quippe quae "maxime laudabilem" doctorum philosophorum mysticorum Ordinem proferrent atque "universam hominum reformationem" promoverent, tantum apud homines genuerunt studium, quod a Frances Yates, rerum gestarum scriptrice, "Rosicrucian Enlightenment" ('Illuminismus Rosaceae Crucis') appellaretur.[4]


Fraternitas Rosaceae Crucis cum protestantibus (praesertim Lutheranis) primum consociabatur. Edictis enim suis catholicismo Romano, quod dogma empirismo praeferrent, contradixerunt, non aliter ac Martinus Luther in scriptis suis. A Mauris suam veritatem philosophicam et scientificam deduxerunt, adfirmantes hanc veritatem centum et viginti annos celatam fuisse, donec tempora intellegentia exculta faciliorem ad eam aditum praeberent. Michael Maier, Robertus Fludd, Thomas Vaughan aliique philosophi saeculi septimi decimi ineuntis ad occultismum inclinantes cosmotheoriae Fraternitatis insigniter studebant.[5] Fuit etiam magni momenti ad latomismum, qui in Scotia tunc exsistebat.[6] Posterioribus saeculis multae societates esotericae postulaverunt suas doctrinas, omnino aut partim, ex primis fratribus Rosaceae Crucis ortas esse. Complures societates hodiernae institutae sunt ad investigandas doctrinas aliasque res ad Fraternitatem pertinentes.
