How to not use spring 4 libraries when using library spring-boot-starter-data-redis 2.1.1.RELEASE?
My stack contains Spring 5 and I don't want to use any Spring 4 stuff.
I'm using maven build tool to add library org.springframework.boot:spring-boot-starter-data-redis:jar:2.1.1.RELEASE to my stack.
This library have transitive dependency to org.springframework:spring-framework-bom:pom:4.3.20.RELEASE because of library lettuce-core.
org.springframework.boot:spring-boot-starter-data-redis:jar:2.1.1.RELEASE
-> io.lettuce:lettuce-core:jar:5.1.3.RELEASE
-> org.springframework:spring-framework-bom:pom:4.3.20.RELEASE)
According to "https://github.com/lettuce-io/lettuce-core/blob/master/pom.xml" lettuce-core use dependency org.springframework:spring-framework-bom as "Managed dependency", in other words spring-framework-bom dependency scope is import.
Question "Import Dependency Management with Exclusion" contains accepted answer "Exclusion at import won't work, try excluding it from the actual user of the dependency".
I tried to exclude spring-framework 4.3.20.RELEASE stuff but no luck.
Is it really so that I must use spring-framework 4.X stuff when using library spring-boot-starter-data-redis 2.1.1.RELEASE?

Spring Boot (when used properly) will override the versions. So that fact that there is a 4.3 dependency doesn't mean it gets used.
